Great news for those of you that are big fans of Sugarpill makeup! Does everyone remember the amazing booth they had for the IMATS expo in 2011 last year with my art all over the back? Well Sugarpill has decided to use that new piece they had commissioned from me on the NEW packaging including a brand new pressed shadow palette~ Heart Breaker!!  Ah it looks like an amazing set of colors, as usual by Sugarpill of course!!!

The new art is also being used on the new prints of the individual pressed eyeshadows! ♥ ♥

New Logo up in the portfolio~ My Little Pony 2012!!

This year is the “My Little Pony Project 2012” which is a charity show Hasbro has done 2 other times since 2006 using HUGE special blank pony bases as canvas!  I was so excited when I got a mail asking if I would help design a new and updated version of the original logo~   Freelance involving My Little Pony, my treasured childhood toy??? UM YES!

(the original logo using an older pony silhouette)

After talking with the curator and Hasbro it was decided that we would keep this within the same spirit as the classic event logo, because it was already very visually pleasing and I loved it ♥ It just needed some new updated tweaks to it!

To start, since the Pony event would be celebrating the new My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series on air I wanted to rework the pony shape of the original with a current pony shape since they are a lot slimmer and stylized currently.  I also updated random the symbols in the old one for new ones that are made to match the main pony cutie marks (aka the cute marks on each pony tush) so that the pattern within made a little sense.

and here my NEW logo for the Pony Project!!!  For those of you that have a sharp eye, yes I did use Pinkie Pie as a base because I love her hair~ plus she is cray cray!! Also designed a nice framed variation of it for more promo use!

♥ ♥ UPDATE♥ ♥ Shirts with the logo are being made for sale at the events AND are up for sale on the WELOVEFINE.COM website HERE!!  CUTE!!! ♥ ♥

Jennifer Erickson photography X Miss Kika = LOVE

I have an amazing selection of girly art eye candy to share today (after taking forever to post these!!!) The amazingly talented Photographer Jennifer Erickson contacted me a while back and asked if I would be ok with her doing some shoots based on a few pieces of mine~ I loved her portfolio and said absolutely!  Who does not want to see something like that?? Over the past few years she has shot a few inspiration shoots or tributes to some of my images and they are all so beautiful I just had to share them here with my visitors! I’ll show a few side by side just for fun and share the rest below in a gallery <3  some just go with the collection, or have small inspirations, and a few are a little more obviously inspired by pieces, can you guess which ones? :D Time for some Rainbow Photos ~

I even had the chance to finally meet her (along with Miss Alphabet ) after the Sanrio 50th show/ party and we had a nice day thrifting around Melrose!

You can check out more of her work online at her website or stay up to date with her clients and shoots through her fanpage

UPDATE:  She is selling a 2012 calendar right now with some of her new amazing photos!  Grab one HERE if you enjoy her work

Locketship at Mercon + New design launch!

Mercon 2011

Yes, another Mermaid post!  Since the Mermaid collab with Locketship was selling so swimmingly (HUR HUR HUR!) Miss Maria decided to take part in an amazing event, the first ever Mercon!  Yes, that’s right~ a MERMAID themed convention! I could not attend the event, but I jumped at the chance to work on a new mermaid piece to launch at the event with Locketship.  A lot of people had requested another design with a mermaid girl + her tail in the piece~  so after a bit of sketching on how to work this out so she fit cute in the circle shape of the jewelry pieces + would still be easy to see at such a small size~ I came up with this little lady:

Miss Kika Mermaid for Locketship

I am really happy with how the colors came out + the fact I got that tail worked in ok! You can buy her online now through the Locketship online shop HERE in the following designs

~ ON SALE NOW!~

Locketship's amazing table!

So anyway, Back to Mercon…  It sounded like an amazing event!  It was held in Las Vegas at the Silverton Mermaid Hotel  ( which has a 117,000 gallon Mermaid Tank! WHAAAAT!?) with vendors, fashion shows, Mermaid celebrities and the end of the day they had a really awesome mermaid pool party!  The always lovely Maria (locketship), Stephanie (Zilla), Stephiee (Dolly Beast) and Miss Bebe flew over from LA to attend the event and be adorable at the booth!

Kudos to Locketship + Mercon for the event photos! Check out the blog post by Maria on the event over at Buzznet HERE for more details and fun pics!
